Profile

Graduated from the Development of Physical Sciences, Faculity of Science, Nara University and from the Graduate School of Earth and Planetary Sciences (Meteorology), Kyoto University, in 2013.

After joining Panasonic in 2013, she worked as a data scientist in the IT department, involved in various BtoC and BtoB businesses.

In 2017, she became interested in "African Social Issues × Business" after participating in a workshop on developing countries that she attended within Panasonic. Wanting to find a concerete business idea, she spent a year "on the ground" in Uganda as a JICA Cooperation Volunteer in 2018.

Through her activities, she came into contact with water problems in rural Uganda and devised a solution, SUNDA, together with local residents. She left Panasonic and found Sunda Technology Global Ltd. 

Selected as one of the 100 people in the special feature "NEXT 100 - 100 ways to 'Hope to Save the World'" in the June 2023 issue og Forbes Japan.

What is your role at SUNDA?
  • Making SUNDA a better product and services and spreading it more widely
  • Team building 
  • Everything is a new experience. Exploring, taking actions, moving things forward and reflecting
What makes you want to work at SUNDA?
  • Because comunity people need SUNDA! (It's all about this!)
  • It is not possible to go extremely to something that can be disseminated to Africa, because it has to be SUNDA!
  • I would like to achieve our dream with these team members!
What kind of person are you?
  • Being relaxed with watching dog's Youtube videos
  • Easy-going person with Fukui accents in Japanese
  • Never had a stmach ache in Uganda (but I have in India)
