Profile

After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at Shiga Prefectural University, transferred to Kyoto Prefectural University and then completed a master’s program in the Department of Socio-Environmental Energy Science at the Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University.

In 2015, he joined Panasonic Corporation, where he was involved in the development of light source systems for high-brightness projectors in a division handling professional video equipment. Currently, he is engaged in export control operations while also working on SUNDA as a side business. In 2017, he participated in an in-house workshop at Panasonic focused on developing countries, where he met Aya Tsuboi, CEO of Sunda Technology Global.

Even after her assignment as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer in Uganda, they continued discussions remotely, leading to the idea of establishing SUNDA to address water issues in developing countries. Together, they co-founded Sunda Technology Global, where he continues to work on solving social issues and developing new business ventures in Uganda.

What is your role at SUNDA?
  • Responsible for accounting and general affairs as a director of Sunda Technology Global, providing broad support for various operations.
  • Handle accounting-related tasks, registration filings, and manage business contests and grant applications (including submissions, presentations, and performance reports).
  • Assist with technical development and other tasks to support SUNDA's business operations from Japan.

What makes you want to work at SUNDA?
  • Aspiring to build a business that fundamentally addresses social issues in the rapidly growing region of Africa.
  • Believing that by making effective usages of broken-down boreholes and improving their operational rates through SUNDA, we can contribute to solving Africa’s water problems.
  • Aiming to acquire broad experience and skills by taking on new challenges, gaining the ability to accomplish anything.
  • Through my involvement in SUNDA, I have gained a deeper understanding of accounting and business procedures, areas I had no prior experience in, and I find both the challenges and enjoyments on the growth of my skills.
What kind of person are you?
    • During my student days, I was a member of the Shogi Club and the Earth Science Club
    • Currently having a wide range of hobbies, including watching anime, playing PC games, and singing karaoke.
    • Enjoying going out with friends and occasionally drinking, showing an outdoor side to my personality as well.
    • Often being described as easygoing and laid-back.
